There are a great deal of job search portal sites out there. The ‘net is rife with a variety of sites that all advertise that they are the “best” or provide the most leads, or can provide the inside advantage to help your job search. However, not all are created equal. I wanted to start a discussion on what makes them different, what advantages certain sites carry, and what works for you. In some cases, this may be subjective (“I like the “look” and “feel” of particular site,” or “I feel more confident when visiting this portal”). In other cases, there may be more concrete criteria for choosing one site over another (“applying to this site ALWAYS get me interviews,” or “posting here gets recruiters to call me”).

I want to know what your experience has been (especially with the most popular job search sites (Monster, Dice, Careerbuilder, Yahoo! HotJobs, etc.). Also, I want to know what features stood out as the most effective for you (or added the most value – resume builders, cover letter templates, networking components, add-on’s and “smart” advertising (customizable content based on your preferences and responses, etc.).
